Save Your Self: Artboards were on display in downtown Kansas City December 2020-February 2021. These Crossroads Artboards are a part of a public art program commissioned and administered by Charlotte Street Foundation.
Save Your Self (2020) is a series of wood cutout acrylic paintings featuring conceptional products with familiar or inviting packaging, which promise a human need that could not be fulfilled by a purchase. These pieces encourage the viewer to question how many of their needs are being met by our capitalist society. This project also addresses the lack of solutions our society offers to those struggling with their mental health.
The pieces range in size from 8.5 x 8.5 in to 24 x 12.5 in.
This series has been featured in Create! Magazine, frankie magazine, Curious Magazine, The Feminist Art Museum, The Jealous Curator, a solo show at Beco Gallery, and on a public artboard in downtown Kansas City.
Eating Feelings (2019) is an 8’ x 12’ room installation featuring styrofoam, fabric, and wood sculptures and murals.
This installation creates a big, bright, approachable space for working through our emotions, as a response to the lack of room our society typically leaves for processing feelings.
Funeral (2018) is a series of wood cutout acrylic paintings. Each piece is a response to many injustices and abuses perpetrated by systems in the United States. This rage has been veiled in flowers and customs of American funerals to make the unacceptable female anger more approachable through a façade of cheerfulness and tradition.
